August 2013

August 2013 is best summed up by saying that we spend the majority of the time at Papi's Cabin in Strawberry. It was so fun! We went to the fish hatchery, played on the tire swing, played with extended family, played in the water and went tubing! I can only hope that it is that much fun this year when we go. (Warning! There are a lot of pictures!)

Bennett loved tubing down a man made rapid in the East Verde River. So fun to watch!

We also got to go camping with my brother and sister in law and their kids. We didn't get a lot of sleep with 3 kids in our tent, but we still had a lot of fun. The rain, food, nature walks, potato lake, hide and seek in the ferns, digging up worms, and watching cows invade our campsite. It was a ton of fun!

 The three oldest cousins. Missing Haizley and Aftyn, and Aimee and I were both pregnant. Aimee much more pregnant than I was.

Aftyn was only crawling on this trip; not yet walking. So she was somewhat confined to this fake grass tarp, and yet somehow she found a way to eat the mud, sticks, grass and dirt anyway. Cute girl!

The rest of August was spent doing the things we do on a regular basis but getting to enjoy it with Phil before he started his second year of medical school. Sunday dinners with the Bowlers, 

Thursday dinners with the Calls, wrestling in the backyard grass, 

movies with Bennett to see Planes (we are still 100% in love with Dusty), 

and watching my kids grow up way too fast!

August was a very full month for us. We tried to pack it full of lots of activities and memories before we lost Phil again to his school work. We had heard lots of rumors that the 2nd year of medical school was the hardest year and we wanted to start it off with a lot of happy memories and good times to keep us going through the year. I think we succeeded. :)
